3 Kid-Friendly Finds Near Columbus

Westerville mom and entrepreneur Jennifer Sanger shares a few of her favorite local places for little ones.

I founded my online children’s clothing boutique Jamison & Bexley (named after my son and his older sister) to offer styles that let kids look like kids as they go on amazing adventures and live their best life. Our energetic little ones keep me and my husband, Matt, and our dog, Aria, pretty busy, and we’re always looking for fun places to go in the Columbus area. Here are a few of my favorite spots to take our children when we’re looking for local adventure.

Inniswood Metro Gardens: This Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks property is free to visit and has incredible gardens, cascading waterfalls and a shaded trail that’s perfect for hot summer days. The dedicated children’s play area — known as the Sisters’ Garden — offers a Story Maze, Trellis Cave and Secret Garden within its nearly 3 acres. Inniswood is also a great spot for family portraits. 940 Hempstead Rd., Westerville 43081, 614/895-6216, metroparks.net

Momi Land: If you’re looking for an indoor space that’s super clean and well suited to screaming toddlers, this playground for the 8-and-under crowd is your go-to place. Momi Land has locations in Lewis Center and Hilliard, and the pastel shades and inviting play areas, like the ball pit and a safe trampoline, make it a little kid’s dream. Party packages are available, too. 704 Radio Dr., Lewis Center 43035, 740/201-8764; 3681 Park Mill Run Dr., Hilliard 43026; momiland.com

Peapod Play Cafe: When your child needs a place to run around while you do some work, this spot will make both of you happy. The cafe offers Wi-Fi and sells locally roasted Stauf’s coffee so you can catch up on your emails while your little one explores the activities in the play area. 4874 Thompson Rd., Columbus 43230, peapodplaycafe.com
