Float On: 4 Ohio Hot Air Balloon Festivals

Enjoy food, entertainment and family fun at these Ohio festivals centered around hot air balloons.

Ashland BalloonFest: Along with its main attraction, this annual June festival features fun competitions among hot air balloon pilots and live entertainment. Each night of the festival features a balloon glow in which illuminated hot air balloons float above the field to music that corresponds with the lighting, adding another element to an already beautiful sight.

Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Balloon Classic: This Canton event, typically at the end of July, features 40 food trucks, local bands and five flights from 54 balloons. The event kicks off Friday, and a fireworks display paired with a balloon glow is set for Saturday night. A final flight takes place on Sunday morning as pilots depart the festival.

All Ohio Balloon Festival: This Marysville event is an annual tradition, bringing live music headliners, a Kidz City and more family fun each August. The Darth Vader balloon is always a favorite, with the “Star Wars” villain being joined by a lineup of other shapes, such as the first appearance of a “Looney Tunes” Tasmanian Devil balloon.
