Pav’s Creamery Unveils Lawson’s Chip Dip Ice Cream

This northeast Ohio-based ice cream maker begins selling pints of its sweet-and-savory limited tribute to a local classic Aug. 6.

For northeast Ohioans of a certain age, Lawson’s is legend. The convenience-store chain’s two dozen locations across the region became Dairy Mart stores in the 1980s and then were rebranded as Circle K in 2000. (The Lawson convenience store brand does, however, live on across Japan.) These days, Circle K still carries Lawson’s beloved chip dip, which Pav’s Creamery celebrates with its latest (very) limited-release pints.

Beginning Aug. 6, customers can snag a pint of Lawson’s Chip Dip Ice Cream at all five Pav’s Creamery locations, but they’ll have to act fast. Only 100 pints of this mashup are available at each spot. A pint comes with a bag of Gold’n Crisp Potato Chips, which are produced in Massillon, to make the chip-dip experience complete.

Pav’s Creamery co-owner Nik Pappas said in an Aug. 4, 2025, press release that the chip-dip ice cream flavor was inspired by Graeter’s ice cream’s collaboration with Skyline Chili earlier in 2025.

“I drove to the nearest Circle K — the only place you can find it — grabbed a couple tubs of Lawson’s Chip Dip, and started experimenting with our ice cream,” Pappas said in an Aug. 4, 2025 press release. “Then I grabbed a bag of kettle chips and paired them with the dip-infused ice cream. The result was great. Everyone who tried it came back for another bite. I highly suggest trying it for yourself — you will be pleasantly surprised.”
