Nestled in historic downtown Millersburg, Cottonwood Shanty is known for home decor. “The aesthetic is to create a mixture of European style that is natural and effortless,” says owner Alyssa Eliot. We asked the Millersburg native for some of her favorite food finds in the surrounding countryside.
Rebecca’s Bistro: This quaint bistro offers a menu of carefully curated eats. “I love getting Rebecca’s decadent stuffed French toast for breakfast,” says Eliot. “For lunch, I love their grilled cheese and famous chunky tomato soup.” 4986 Walnut St., Walnut Creek 44687, 330/893-2668, rebeccasbistro.com
Park Street Pizza: This shop embraces local ingredients and big flavors. “Their Creamy Chicken Bacon Ranchero pizza is heavenly with a creamy ranch base and zinging jalapeno peppers,” Eliot says. 215 Dover Rd. NW, Sugarcreek 44681, 330/852-2993, parkstreetpizza.com
Mrs. Yoders Kitchen: Gloria Yoder’s restaurant is a classic for a reason. “If you’re looking for an authentic, Amish-cooked meal, this is your place,” Eliot says. “And don’t forget to save room for pie.” 8101 St. Rte. 241, Mount Hope 44660, 330/674-0922, mrsyoderskitchen.com
