8 Tribute Bands Rocking Ohio Stages This Season

Venues across Ohio are turning up the nostalgia with tribute acts that channel the sound and spirit of legends ranging from the Eagles to Pink Floyd. 

Rock legends past and present take the stage in Ohio this season in the form of tribute acts that faithfully deliver iconic songs. From a love letter to the West Coast sounds of the Eagles to an act that traces the course of The Beatles’ career, check out these seven tribute shows that sound so much like the originals.

Out of Eden | Nov. 7 
Out of Eden brings the Eagles’ signature harmonies to The Kent Stage in Kent on Nov. 7, delivering a faithful re-creation of the band’s iconic ’70s sound. The six-piece, Ohio-based group is known for its spot-on vocal blend and polished arrangements of favorite hits like “Hotel California” and “Take It Easy.” Expect a professional, nostalgia-rich performance from a band celebrated for capturing both the sound and spirit of the original.

Creedence: The Tribute | Nov. 8
Swampy Southern rock fills the Knight Stage at Akron Civic Theatre for a one-night performance by Creedence: The Tribute. This Ohio-based band led by Pat Daley and Dan Holland re-creates the raw, roots-driven sound of Creedence Clearwater Revival. The group pays tribute to CCR classics like “Bad Moon Rising,” “Green River” and “Fortunate Son” as well as John Fogerty’s solo hits.

Fleetwood Gold | Nov. 8 
Energy and nostalgia collide when Fleetwood Gold brings its acclaimed Fleetwood Mac tribute to the Majestic Theatre in Chillicothe on Nov. 8. Billed as the most followed Fleetwood Mac tribute band in the Midwest, the group features national blues champion Chris Shutters alongside vocalists Erika Prehm and Sara Reat (who are from Columbus). With no backing tracks, the band captures the magic of both Fleetwood Mac’s peak years and Stevie Nicks’ solo hits.

The Traveling Salvation Show | Nov. 8 
Experience The Traveling Salvation Show, a Neil Diamond tribute praised for its arena-style production and authentic vocals, when it arrives at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts in Findlay on Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. The performance features two full sets of Diamond’s greatest hits, (including “Sweet Caroline” of course) complete with a live band, immersive lighting and interactive moments with the audience designed to feel like the real tour experience.

Wish You Were Here: The Sight and Sound of Pink Floyd| Nov. 8 
Wish You Were Here, a nationally touring tribute known for authentically re-creating Pink Floyd’s live concert experience, brings its “50/30 Anniversary Tour” to Kemba Live! in Columbus on Nov. 8. Presented by local radio station QFM96, the tour marks 50 years of Wish You Were Here and 30 years of the tribute itself, featuring a full-album performance of “Wish You Were Here,” immersive sound and signature Floyd-style visuals.

Hard Day’s Night | Nov. 14-15
Beatlemania takes over Worthington’s McConnell Arts Center for two nights, Nov. 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. Friday’s show revisits the Fab Four’s early hits and their famed Ed Sullivan debut, while Saturday’s performance moves into the experimental era of Revolver and Abbey Road. Complete with period costumes, authentic instruments and a rooftop concert finale ala the band’s 1969 Apple Headquarters performance, Hard Day’s Night delivers an career-spanning celebration of the Beatles’ evolution.

Strangelove: The Depeche Mode Experience | Nov. 21
Step into the synth-driven world of the 1980s as Strangelove brings the sounds of Depeche Mode to life at the Taft Theatre on Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. With authentic ’80s styling and a full-stage production, the band re-creates hits like “Enjoy the Silence” and “Personal Jesus.” Led by Leo Luganskiy and music director Brent Meyer, Strangelove captures the moody energy and edge of Depeche Mode’s live performances. Plus, the band is joined by David Bowie tribute performer Electric Duke.

ThunderBeard | Nov. 21
Get ready to rock when ThunderBeard brings the Texas blues of ZZ Top to the Majestic Theatre in Chillicothe on Nov. 21. Complete with beards, shades and plenty of guitar grit, the tribute band delivers hits like “Sharp Dressed Man” and “La Grange” with authentic southern flair and the looks the band is known for. Set inside a beautifully restored historic theater, this high-energy show pairs classic rock nostalgia with a charming theater setting.
