Lords of the Sound Present ‘The Music of Hans Zimmer’

See this acclaimed Ukrainian symphony perform pieces from the award-winning composer in two Ohio cities this March.

Fans of Han Zimmer can soon experience a high-energy tribute to the legendary German composer as the Ukrainian orchestra Lords of the Sound makes its United States debut next month, with stops at Columbus’ Palace Theatre and Cleveland’s KeyBank State Theatre on March 12 and 14, respectively.

The touring program, titled “The Music of Hans Zimmer,” features Zimmer’s iconic orchestral arrangements that have appeared in a number of films, including “Inception,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Dune,” “The Dark Knight” and “The Lion King,” among others.

Known for its signature blend of symphonic and rock elements, Lord of the Sound brings these iconic scores to life using Ukrainian instruments, including the bandura, a lute-harp hybrid; the cimbalom, a hammered dulcimer; and the sopilka, a traditional flute.

Producer Andrii Novatorov and conductor Nazar Yakobenchuk are responsible for curating the orchestra’s unique electronic-classic fusion sound. The blockbuster show also features standout vocal soloists Illia Skrebnov and Yaroslava Taran, promising an emotionally charged evening centered around some of the most powerful music in cinema.
