Kingwood Center Gardens Lights Up October With The Great Pumpkin Glow
See the autumn display of more than 1,000 glowing jack-o’-lanterns at Kingwood Center Gardens in Mansfield for The Great Pumpkin Glow Oct. 16 through 18.
Explore the 47-acre garden estate during The Great Pumpkin Glow from 4 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 through 18, featuring more than 1,000 glowing jack-o’-lanterns carved by members of the Mansfield community. The pumpkins illuminate the estate’s garden paths, creating a glowing fall display for visitors to explore after dark. Along the way, see handmade scarecrows on Scarecrow Row, the historic display greenhouse lit perfectly for the season and wander through the Fluorescent Forest.
Families can take a break from exploring the illuminated gardens to visit the children’s carnival or grab a bite from local food trucks, with barbecue from Bruiser’s BBQ, ice cream from Cowgirl Creamery and more.
Help carve the event’s jack-o’-lanterns Oct. 14 and 15 from noon to 8 p.m. Pumpkins carved during this event will be featured in the pumpkin pathway. All materials are provided and carvers will receive free admission to the gardens on carving days.
Set on the former estate of industrialist Charles Kelley King, Kingwood Center Gardens offers a scenic backdrop for the fall festivities. The historic mansion, display greenhouse, duck pond and roaming peacocks add to the charm of the property, which is known for its colorful floral displays, rare plant collections, woodland trails and landscapes.
