Experience Spirit Stories by Lantern Light at Spiegel Grove

The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums in Fremont invites guests to explore the haunted side of history during its after-dark tours filled with ghost tales, campfires and fall charm.

Take a peek at the mysterious side of history during Spirit Stories at Spiegel Grove. On Nov. 7, visitors to the grounds of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums can follow lantern-lit trails through the wooded estate grounds.

This year, the theme of the lantern-lit walk is ghost stories centered around animals. As guests roam the grounds, they will hear scary stories of the other worldly as part of the one-hour tour. Lantern tours run from 7 to 10 p.m., departing every 10 minutes, with the final tour starting at 9 p.m.

Beat the autumn chill by gathering around the campfire while you wait for your tour to depart or after you return. Plus, there is hot cocoa, apple cider and popcorn available for attendees to snack on.

As the nation’s first presidential library, the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums offers a look into both the personal and historical past of our 19th president, and for one night, that history takes on a spine-chilling twist.

Tickets are $15 for non-members and $10 for members, and advanced purchase is recommended. A limited number of tickets will be available at the museum’s front desk on the day of the event.
