Pomegranate Cocktail | Makes 1
Food writer Robin Davis, author of Recipe for Joy, started the tradition of serving candlelight breakfasts on Valentine’s Day the first year she was married, and created this cocktail (with a nonalcoholic option) for the holiday. It has since become the family’s celebratory drink on special occasions in any season.
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon chilled pomegranate juice
1 cup chilled sparkling wine such as Prosecco
1 teaspoon orange liqueur such as Grand Marnier
orange peel twist or orange slice for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Pour the pomegranate juice into a Champagne flute or wine glass. Fill with sparkling wine. Top with orange liqueur. Garnish with orange peel or an orange slice.
Serve immediately.
To make a nonalcoholic version, substitute nonalcoholic sparkling cider for the sparkling wine and orange juice for the orange liqueur.
