Touring Broadway productions are lighting up Ohio stages this fall, with theaters across the state hosting a mix of award-winning hits, timeless favorites and fresh new productions. See the wives of Henry VIII take the stage in pop-princess fashion style or tag along on a humorous journey with two quirky missionaries. From sharp-witted comedy, high-energy choreography and a story or two that will have you reaching for the tissues, experience some of the best of Broadway without these six shows this season.

The Book of Mormon | Sept. 30-Oct. 1
See the outrageous, laugh-out-loud musical from the creators of ”South Park” that critics have called one of the best of the century. Winner of nine Tony Awards, the musical follows two missionaries, using razor-sharp satire and show-stopping musical numbers. Don’t miss this short run that’s part of the Broadway in Akron series at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall, and be prepared for bold humor, strong language and plenty of unforgettable moments.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child | Oct. 12-26
Winner of six Tony Awards, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” continues the story of Harry, Ron and Hermione, while introducing a new generation of Hogwarts adventures at the Ohio Theater in Columbus. When Harry’s son, Albus, forms an unlikely friendship with Draco Malfoy’s son, a magical journey through time begins. Packed with dazzling stage effects, spellbinding storytelling and jaw-dropping illusions, this nearly three-hour production offers an unforgettable theatrical experience for all fans of this worlds of wizards.

The Sound of Music | Oct. 14-19
For over 60 years, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music” has charmed audiences with its uplifting story and unforgettable songs. This critically acclaimed production, directed by Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien, brings Maria and the von Trapp family’s journey to life with renewed vibrancy at the Schuster Center in Dayton. Featuring classics like “Do-Re-Mi,” “Edelweiss” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” the production captures the romance, resilience and joy that make this musical one of Broadway’s most enduring favorites.

The Notebook: The Musical | Oct. 14-26
This production based on Nicholas Spark’s bestselling novel and the beloved 2004 film “The Notebook” comes to Cincinnati’s Aronoff Center with a sweeping romance following Noah and Allie through their lifetime of love and heartbreak. Featuring an original score by singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson and co-directed by Michael Grief of “Dear Evan Hansen” fame and Schele Williams of “The Wiz, the production blends heartfelt music with deeply moving storytelling that put the written page in the spotlight.

Six | Nov. 11-16 
Are you a history enthusiast and a musical lover? “Six” is a show you won’t want to miss. Coming to Cleveland’s Connor Palace, "Six" brings a high-energy, pop-infused retelling of the stories of Henry VIII’s six wives. The “Six: Live on Opening NIght” topped the Billboard cast album charts and has been streamed over a billion times worldwide. Audiences should note that the show includes strobe lights, flashing effects, theatrical haze and loud music throughout.

Some Like it Hot | Nov. 18-23
“Some Like It Hot” lights up the Ohio Theater in Columbus with the glamour and energy of Broadway. This Tony Award-winning musical, also honored with a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album, tells the story of two musicians who flee Prohibition-era Chicago after witnessing a mob hit, embarking on a hilarious and heartfelt cross-country adventure that makes the perfect show to see with the onset of the holiday season.
