Columbus Air Show Announces 2026 Event Headliner

The U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team brings its jet showcase to our capital city during this event that runs June 19 through 21.

The Columbus Air Show announced its headlining act for 2026, with the U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team taking top billing. The air show runs June 19 through 21 at Rickenbacker International Airport.

The F-35A Lightning II demonstration team travels and performs across the globe, showcasing the abilities of the jet, which is the first and only stealth, supersonic, multi-role fighter jet in the world. Only a limited number of air shows are approved by the Air Force each year, so the F-35A Lightning II making an appearance at the Columbus Air Show is a rare treat.

“The F-35A is a masterpiece in aviation technology, and the Demo Team amazes crowds wherever they perform.  We are thrilled to help showcase the F-35 at the 2026 show,” Herb Gillen, president of Herb Gillen Airshows, producer of the event, said in a Feb. 9 press release. “I am grateful for the confidence the Air Force has placed in our team by selecting the Columbus Air Show to feature this incredible aircraft.”

The headlining act fits in perfectly with the theme of the Columbus Air Show, which is specifically designated an America 250-Ohio event. The theme of the air show this year is “Celebrate America” and will highlight Ohio’s impact on aviation history and the United States military. Other aircraft making appearances at the air show include the F-4D Phantom and UH-1H Greyhound helicopter.

Tickets for the Columbus Air Show are currently available for purchase online, and attendees have the option to choose from packages ranging between general admission and reserved premium seating, which gives them access to luxury catered tents during the event.
