The return of chocolate bunnies, plastic eggs and pastel-colored candies to supermarket shelves means Easter season is upon us. With it comes excitement for family activities like egg hunts, Easter baskets and other hallmarks of spring. Climb aboard the Easter Bunny Express with the LM&M Railroad in Lebanon. The fun-filled train runs three times per day and takes passengers on a trip to the Bunny Patch at the Lebanon Sports Complex. Get your camera ready as the Easter Bunny himself hops around for photo opportunities. Visit Majestic Meadows Alpacas in Medina for this beloved Easter celebration. Book a 90-minute session that includes a lively egg hunt, where children search for eggs in their own designated areas separated by age group. Be sure to bring a basket to collect as many eggs as you can. Once all the eggs are gathered and returned, children can snag a goodie bag to take home. Keep an eye out for the zoo’s egg ambassadors, Eggbert, Shelly, Yolko and Oh-No, who can be found outside the Lakeside Pavilion. Snap photos with these colorful figures before enjoying rides on the “Character Express” train and participating in an egg hunt. Celebrate Easter the presidential way at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums in Fremont. This annual activity continues a tradition started by President Hayes during his time in office. Children can participate by bringing three hard-boiled, dyed eggs for events on the Hayes Home lawn. Stick around to meet the Easter Bunny, take part in a scavenger hunt and make a craft. rbhayes.org

43rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt | Apr. 5
Since 1983, Yellow Springs’ Young’s Jersey Dairy has hosted this event that features more than 10,000 colorful plastic eggs hidden in the grass. The free festivities start at 2 p.m. with an egg hunt for children 4 and under. After the little ones have finished up, children ages 5 to 7 begin at 2:20 p.m., followed by children ages 8 to 10 at 2:40 p.m. Finally, at 3 p.m., the Young’s offers a quieter, sensory-friendly hunt on the east side of the driving range. Afterward, the dairy’s mascot, Barnabe, will be around for photos. youngsdairy.com
