4 Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day in Ohio

From a car show in Akron to a philharmonic concert in Dayton, here are four finds for dad to enjoy this Father’s Day.

The car show has been a staple of American culture for decades, with towns big and small hosting summer cruise-ins, and Father's Day brings a classic car show to the ground of Akron’s Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. Enjoy a look at Ford Thunderbirds, a model that celebrates 70 years in 2025, as well as other vintage vehicles on the grounds of the historic estate where Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. co-founder F.A. Seiberling and his family once lived. That’s just one of the great Father’s Day events going on across our state to enjoy with the dad, grandfather or father figure in your life.

Father’s Day Concert | June 15
Enjoy an evening of musical delights with a free Father’s Day Concert from the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra at Carillon Historical Park in Dayton. The program blends classical symphonies and operas with American standards like “The Star-Spangled Banner” and pop culture favorites like  “The Imperial March” and “Hang On Sloopy.” Enjoy the park setting, soaring melodies and summer sun at this unique Father’s Day concert.

Seiberling, the Tudor Revival manor house and its rolling green grounds are the perfect backdrop for a showcase of over 400 classic cars made between 1915 and 2000. Younger visitors can climb and play in interactive garden installations inspired by Stan Hywet Hall’s history, and everyone can enjoy eats on-site from Winking Lizard Tavern, Molly’s Courtyard Cafe, Kona Ice and more.

Have a Catch With Dad | June 15
Dust off your mitt and bring dad to storied League Park at the Baseball Heritage Museum in Cleveland. You can play a game of catch and re-create the glory days of America’s favorite pastime at this field where the Cleveland Indians once hosted the likes of Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio (the 56th and final game of the iconic Yankee’s hitting streak ended here). After a game of catch, treat yourself to doughnuts and juice and check out the on-site museum that shares the ballpark’s history.

Toledo Mud Hens Father’s Day Lunch | June 15
Take dad out to the ballgame for a day of food, fun and family time at the Toledo Mud Hens Father’s Day Lunch. Catch pregame autograph sessions with Mud Hens players and meet animated characters from “The Little Mermaid,” “Wicked” and “Frozen.” During the game, chow on a buffet of picnic favorites like hot dogs and mac and cheese while you watch the action on the field. End the night with the chance for kids to run the bases at Fifth Third Field.
