Great Ohio Road Trips | Lakes and Parks of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District
Join us as we visit eight lakes and parks that offer lots of summer fun, both on and off the water.
It’s our pleasure to bring you along on this Great Ohio Road Trip to the lakes and parks of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District. Today, we visit destinations across the state that offer a mix of camping, boating, fishing, swimming and hiking, whether you’re looking to rough it in style or enjoy a quieter getaway surrounded by nature.
The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District was created in 1933 to help control flooding in the Muskingum River Watershed. Today, the district, which spans more than 8,000 square miles in the eastern half of Ohio, is home to popular parks and lakes that
have become a summertime destination for those looking to camp, boat, hike, swim and simply enjoy time together. The offerings at the campgrounds range from full-service sites to more primitive ones, and each lake has a marina with rentals available,
so you can get out on the water even if you don’t have a boat of your own.
