Miami County offers two trails to provide some summer fun, the Sweets & Spirits Trail and the Boutique Trail.
The Sweets & Spirits Trail is a great way to explore Miami County and find some of your favorite things, from candy and cocktails to cookies and craft beer to brownies and bourbon to an irresistible ice cream. Users can check in at any of the 20-plus locations along the trail to earn points towards amazing prices. Earn even more points by taking advantage of discounts at select locations. Shop the day away in Miami County with the Boutique Trail. Find the perfect dress, comfy sweatshirt, pants for that special occasion and more. This trail lists over 15 great clothing boutiques throughout the county by city. Some boutiques have offered discounts for those participating. Find out more about the trail here.
Two rivers flow through the county, the Great Miami River and the Stillwater River. Both offer a variety of water-based experiences such as canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and more.
Ride along the Great Miami Recreational Trail, part of the nation’s largest paved trail network, with over 30 miles winding through Miami County. In addition to the paved trails, Miami County welcomes mountain and fat tire bike enthusiasts to the Troy Mountain Bike Area (TMBA). TMBA is located along the river at Duke Park and has approximately 8 miles of trails for beginners and experienced riders.
Spend a summer night in Troy on the Great Miami River in Ohio’s only public floating tent experience, Float Troy. These tents are inflatable, floating rafts with a topper, allowing you to sleep on the river. See Miami County’s own “Miniature Niagara” at Charleston Falls Preserve. With over 216 acres of prairie and forest to explore, Charleston Falls is home to a 37-foot waterfall, a prime picture spot of the parks. Other highlights of Miami County Parks include the suspension bridge over the scenic Stillwater River connecting Maple Ridge and Stillwater Prairie Reserve, Lost Creek Reserve, the sculptures and walking trails at Hobart Urban Nature Preserve and more. In 2025, Sculptures on the Square returns to downtown Troy, and it promises to color the square with creativity. This beloved biennial exhibit transforms the heart of Troy into an open-air gallery, inviting locals and visitors alike to experience art in a whole new way. This year, we will welcome 16 incredible artists with 19 sculptures representing this year’s them, “Sow and Grow.” From June 12 to Oct. 5, join us to celebrate arts and culture in Miami County!
