Gervasi Spirits Brings Home Wins in the 2025 U.S. Open Whiskey and Spirits Championships

Gervasi Spirits, made on-site at Gervasi Vineyard Resort & Spa in Canton, garnered nine medals at this nationwide competition.

Gervasi Vineyard Resort & Spa has long been lauded as a destination for acclaimed wines, great food and excellent accommodations, but made-on-site spirits as also part of that award-winning lineup.

Competing in two categories at the 2025 U.S. Open Whiskey and Spirits Championships, Gervasi Spirits claimed the title of Grand National Champion in the spirits division, placing them above Waypoint Spirits in Connecticut who came in second, and the third place Paps Hilltop Distillery of Bainbridge, Ohio.

In addition to the Grand National Champion title, Gervasi Spirits also placed second in the whiskey category. In total, Gervasi brought home nine medals in total, including four gold, three silver and two bronze. Gold medal-winning entries included the spiced rum and small-batch gin, while maple cask bourbon and rum barrel bourbon brought home silver medals.

“This recognition is a testament to the passion, precision and innovation of our head distiller, Shae Pridemore and assistant distiller Michael Phillips,” Scott Swaldo, CEO of Gervasi Vineyard and Gervasi Spirits, said in an April 15, 2025, press release announcing the win. “To be recognized among the nation’s finest in both whiskey and spirits is an incredible honor, and it reflects our deep commitment to crafting exceptional, world-class products right here in Ohio.”
