Statehood Day at Adena
Chillicothe
Thomas Worthington was instrumental in the admission of Ohio to the United States, so much so that he is known as the Father of Ohio Statehood. His legacy is shared at his home in Chillicothe, which was built in 1807. Attend tours at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Walk the halls where Worthington — one of Ohio’s first two senators and its sixth governor — lived. Also at 1 p.m., organizers will lead a guided hike to Great Seal Overlook, the view that is said to be the inspiration for our state’s seal.
