Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum Introduces Soundscapes

Starting June 20, this outdoor arts destination in Hamilton launches an immersive audio experience for summer visitors.

This summer, Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum is turning up the volume on wonder, inviting visitors to slow down, tune in and hear the park like never before. Kicking off with a sunset solstice celebration on June 20, Soundscapes at Pyramid Hill debuts six immersive audio journeys inspired by the park’s rolling hills, sculptures and natural beauty.

In a collaboration with the Cincinnati-based arts and wellness nonprofit, The Well, Soundscapes combines art, nature and sound in unexpected and moving ways. Featured artists completed their sound recordings at The Well, perfecting the sound that matches the included sculptures.

Each audio experience is geofenced to its exact spot in the park. Whether you’re wandering past a sculpture, under blooming dogwoods or deep in the woods along a trail, you’ll be able to hear the piece exactly where it was inspired from.

The June 20 launch event, The Longest Day, runs from 5 to 9:30 p.m. and celebrates the summer solstice with live experimental music, guided meditations, charcuterie picnics and a communal sunset salutation to wrap up the night. Soundscapes will also remain digitally available through November 2027, giving plenty of time for a return trip.

Pieces in Soundscapes include “Eclipsody: Transmission from the Veil,” a heart-stirring composition by Sonya and Daniel that captures the magic of the April 2024 total solar eclipse, as well as Talon Silverhorn’s “Under the Dogwood,” a flute meditation influenced by birdsong, the wind and the spirit of his Shawnee ancestors.
