Immerse yourself in masterful watercolors by Winslow Homer. Through his brilliant use of watercolor, Homer teaches history and delves into the soul of his subjects. Never trained in art, Homer did freelance illustration for Harper's Magazine and was in the battle lines of the Civil War, recreating the land and emotion.
Experience the museum's collection of etchings, engravings, woodcuttings, wood engravings and lithographs represented by artists including John James Audubon, George Bellows and Mary Cassatt. This "Works on Paper" exhibition is free and includes more than 120 works.
This exhibition celebrates the collection of 18th and 19th century jewelry assembled by Nancy and Gilbert Levine, a promised gift to the museum. A selection of approximately 140 jewelry ensembles and individual ornaments, some in their original boxes, represent the period's eclectic styles, notable for their ingenious techniques and imaginative designs.
