Treasure Trove

The Columbus Arts Festival celebrates talent extraordinaire.

What began as a one-day arts celebration half a century ago has bloomed into a three-day fete that’s revered around the country. The 50th Columbus Arts Festival kicks off June 3 and runs through June 5 in the city’s Discovery District just east of downtown. More than 240 artists will be on hand for the juried show, which showcases the best in a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, glass, wood, clay, metal, photography and fiber arts.

“I am so proud of how far the festival has come,” says Vonnie Sanford, a former director of the Greater Columbus Arts Council, who was instrumental in launching the event. “The quality is marvelous. Visitors get a chance to not only look at and purchase fine art, but to meet and talk with the artists.

“And,” she says, “besides loving what they see, attendees have the opportunity to learn so much about each piece.” To read more, click here to subscribe
