EDITORIAL INTERNSHIPS
Ohio Magazine is currently seeking an editorial intern to assist with the magazine and its custom publications. The ideal candidate is entering his/her junior or senior year and is a journalism or English major, although recent grads are welcome to apply as well. We are looking for a student with strong writing skills, knowledge of AP style, and strong spelling, punctuation, grammar and phone skills. Job duties include fact checking and researching stories and listings, writing short articles and compiling some of our special editorial sections.

This is an unpaid, part-time internship; however, we reimburse for parking or bus pass. Scheduling and hours are flexible.

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP

The Ohio Magazine art department is currently seeking a graphic design intern to assist on Ohio Magazine. The ideal candidate should be entering his/her senior year. We are looking for a student with strong design skills, has experience with page design and has interest in entering the publishing field. Job duties would entail designing small sections of the magazine, assisting on magazine collateral, and attending/assisting on photo shoots.

In addition, the intern will also assist in the following areas:
- Photo research
- Retouch and color correct images
- Archive files and artwork
- Scan images for print
- Resize and upload images for the Web

This is an unpaid, part-time internship, however, we reimburse for parking or bus pass. Scheduling and hours are flexible. The intern MUST have reliable transportation to and from work and also to travel in the immediate area to photo shoots.

PHOTOGRAPHY INTERNSHIP

Ohio Magazine, a publication of Great Lakes Publishing Co., is currently interviewing for a photography intern. The ideal candidate should be entering his/her senior year. We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented individual to assist Ohio Magazine’s design team. Candidates should have proficient knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and strong work ethic. InDesign and Web knowledge a plus. The Photography Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in the publication industry, work closely with editors and designers on the magazine and receive college credit by completing photo assignments for publication. The ideal candidate will work well under deadline pressure to perform routine and complex duties in the preparation of Ohio Magazine and related products.

This is an unpaid, part-time internship, however, we reimburse for parking or bus pass and mileage outside of Cuyahoga county. Scheduling and hours are flexible.

Responsibilities:
- Complete photo assignments given by department members
- Retouch and color correct images
- Photo research
- Archive files and artwork
- Scan images for print
- Resize and upload images for the Web

Requirements:
- College student working towards a degree in photography or equivalent field
- Knowledge of digital photography and retouching a must
- Must own a working professional quality camera
- Knowledge of MacOS, Adobe CS2-4, Microsoft Office applications
- Must have a reliable form of transportation, as short distance travel will be a part of the internship
- Must take direction and assert ideas quickly
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail necessary in order to handle a number of projects simultaneously
- Must work well in a deadline driven environment
- Design and Web skills a major plus.
