Have you ever stopped to consider what life without the arts would be like?

Julie Henahan has. As executive director of the Ohio Arts Council, she’s witnessed firsthand the way dance, music, theater and visual arts touch our world.

“Without them,” she muses, “our lives would be pretty bleak. They are truly an important emotional, spiritual and creative presence.

“And,” Henahan adds, “without arts and culture to tell future generations who we really were, we’d be denying our descendants what they need to know about us and in turn, about themselves.”
