Sha-Na-Na’s Ohio Connection
Retro-cool band Sha-Na-Na was founded in 1969 by four Columbia University students, including Dennis Greene, who’s profiled in the February issue of Ohio Magazine. After performing with Sha-Na-Na for 15 years, Greene obtained a master’s degree from Harvard and a law degree from Yale and served as a vice president of production and features at Columbia Pictures. Today, he’s a professor of law at the University of Dayton.
But back in the day, “Denny” was known for his rendition of “Tears on My Pillow,” among other tunes, and for his appearance with Sha-Na-Na at Woodstock.
