With its rolling mountain terrain, lush forests and steady streaming rivers, West Virginia is an ideal trip for outdoor adventurers and relaxation seekers alike, and the state’s four distinct seasons allow for recreation any time of the year. A total of 36 state parks are found throughout the Mountain State. Each offers opportunities for adventure, but three — Stonewall Resort State Park, Canaan Valley State Park and Pipestem Resort State Park — are known as four-season destinations.
