Northeast November My Turn

Celebrate in style

’Tis the season for food and festivities, and we’re celebrating both in My Turn. For starters, come along with us to the home of Fred and Linda Griffith, who’ve made cooking together an art form. (The story begins on page 7). Fred, whose career in Cleveland television spans four decades, and Linda, who’s co-authored six cookbooks with her husband, travel the world in search of fare worth writing about. To ring in the holidays, they share their delectable Christmas Plum Pudding with Hard Sauce recipe — a Dickens of a dish guaranteed to delight the Scrooge look-alike in your family.

If you need to get away, the ideal getaway is just down the road in Detroit (see Travel, page 4). From the glitz and glamour of the Greektown-Casino Hotel to the opulent Henry Ford estate, there are good times to share and memories waiting to be made. Cross a day of shopping off your to-do list with just one trip to your favorite bookstore. We’ve made it easy by selecting six volumes (page 2) that are sure to spread holiday cheer.

Enjoy!
